Amazing Acres Goat Dairy, located in northern Chester County, is now
owned and operated by Will and Lynne Reid, previously of Havertown,
PA.  After months of apprenticeship with the previous owners–Debbie
Mikulak and Fred Bloom–Will is continuing the Amazing Acres tradition
of making handcrafted, small batch, fresh goat cheese.

Will and Lynne have dreamed of having a goat dairy for a decade. After
years of saving and looking for the right opportunity, Will left his
job in the Internet advertising industry to apprentice with Debbie.
Lynne, who is a Graphic Designer, will be in charge of managing and
milking our goats as we build up our herd.

As of September 1st, we are making cheese again and look forward to
reconnecting with our customers. Amazing Acres Goat Dairy has been
selling cheese commercially since 2009. They are members of Chester
County Buy Fresh Buy Local, the Pennsylvania Association for
Sustainable Agriculture, and Pennsylvania Farmstead & Artisan Cheese
Alliance.

You can order Amazing Acres Goat Dairy cheeses by phone or e-mail.
Over the next few weeks, you will also be able to purchase Amazing Acres
products at many of the outlets you’ve patronized in the past.

Our Cheese Varieties

This fresh-aged cheese has an ivory-colored curd surrounded by a bloomy white rind and is soft, but semi-firm in texture. When this cheese is young, it provides a somewhat mild flavor that becomes sharper as it matures. As it ages, its texture becomes drier. The center is dense and claylike, with the crumb dissolving on the tongue, while the section near the rind is almost creamy and can be gooey at room temperature. It is a good cheese for salads or for snacking with hearty breads, crackers and grapes.

Sea Smoke
This is a bloomy rind fresh cheese layered with ash (activated charcoal – food grade). The ash works with the bloomy rind to create a distinctive flavor.

Pumpkin Spice Chèvre
Made with organic pumpkin and spices, this is perfect for the winter holidays. Serve on crackers for an appetizer, spread on graham crackers, or use in cheesecake.

Banon
Banon is a pasteurized cheese made from goat's milk and is circular in shape, around 3” in diameter and 1” in height, and weighing around 3.5 ounces. Amazing Acres Goat Dairy makes it as a Crottin that is wrapped in grape leaves, soaked in French brandy, and tied with raffia.

Crottin
Crottin is the most famous goat cheese of the many varieties produced in the Loire Valley, France. This cheese is the fame of the small village of Chavignol, France. Crottin de Chavignol offers a subtle and slightly nutty flavor. In its youth, this cheese’s dough is solid and compact with a white rind.  As it ripens, the dough becomes crumbly and the mold on the rind matures into a bluish color.

Fresh Fromagina
Made from 100 percent fresh pasteurized goat’s milk. Use Amazing Acres Goat Dairy’s Fresh Fromagina Cheese as you would a ricotta cheese. Use it in savory dips and spreads by adding fresh herbs, dried onion soup mix, chicken or smoked salmon. You can also add a bit of honey or fruit for a flavorful dessert or use in your favorite cheesecake recipe.

Amazing Acres Chèvre
Plain fresh cheese with a consistency of cream cheese, with a tangy, mild bite.

Herbs de Provence Chèvre
The herbs include rosemary, thyme, savory, fennel seed, basil, lavender and marjoram. This will look beautiful on your table served with grapes and plain crackers. Also tastes excellent in a warm goat cheese salad.

French Herb
These herbs consist of chives, parsley, basil, tarragon, rosemary and marjoram. The chèvre is rolled in the dried herbs after it is taken from the cheese mold.

Cranberry
A beautiful cheese for the table and one of Amazing Acres Goat Dairy’s most popular cheeses. Wonderful for breakfast on a bagel as well as before dinner as hors d’oeurves.

Roasted Garlic
Amazing Acres Goat Dairy uses their naturally home-grown garlic for this popular variety. Garlic lovers flip over this chèvre, and it comes with a roasted garlic clove on top.

Cracked Pepper
Cracked pepper is stirred throughout the cheese and the cheese is also then rolled in it.

Chipotle
This one has a great smoky chipotle taste with a kick at the end. The pinkish color also makes a pretty presentation on your cheese and veggie plate.

Rosemary Lemon
Lemon and a light pinch of rosemary are added to this chèvre at the time it’s put in the cheese mold and then the finished product is sprinkled with light touches of both. This cheese offers a subtle yet distinctive flavor.
